Share • LinkedIn • Facebook • Twitter 1 It can be an Administrators dream or bane depending on the situation. If you have not guessed what I am talking about already, it is Software Upgrades. On one side of the coin is an administrator who has a certain bug or issue with their device and is waiting for a new software update to fix this particular issue. While on the other side of the coin there is an administrator with a perfectly working environment and is crossing every finger and toe that upgrading will not cause any issues/bugs to appear. Cisco Software CenterSome might say not upgrading is the better solution when you are already on a stable release. By doing that you might be missing out on some capabilities and features that can help make the business more effective. Just before the holiday season came into full force I received an email from Cisco about the release of the new Cisco Collaboration Endpoint Software nicknamed CE for short. CE8.0 has been out for almost 1 month now and here at we have thoroughly tested and delved deep into the benefits and pitfalls this new version of software. The idea around CE software is to deliver a new experienced-focused solution through a simple yet intuitive UI. Currently CE8.0 only works on the newer generation MX units and SX units. But why should you upgrade from TC software on these devices? The sound spectrum is quite broad. The balance of frqueces is very good. For me qualitprix is excellent! Boston acoustics vr 2000 subwoofer manuals. It was a serious rather deep and quite Introduced a magnificent mdium, and treble that are not garish. Number 1 reason is Cisco Intelligent Proximity: If you have not heard about Cisco Intelligent Proximity I will be doing a full in-depth technical blog shortly here at EOS. For a quick overview it is a new feature from Cisco which is currently supported only on CE software. It allows users to connect their PC / MAC, iOS or Android device via wireless to the endpoint. Depending on the services the administrator enables, users can send or receive content locally on their devices, Along with accessing call control capabilities. Cisco Software Md Vs EdThe primary benefit of this feature is the ability to use the Proximity App for PC or MAC while the endpoint is not in a call to locally share content on the screen. No need to grab that HDMI or VGA cable from the endpoint or messing around with cables within the table box. This truly allows rooms to be full collaboration hubs for every employee, whether they using a video services or having a local meeting with colleagues within the same office. Cisco Edge ComputingThe software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN or SDWAN) is a specific application of software-defined networking (SDN) technology applied to WAN connections such as broadband internet, 4G, LTE. Cisco Edge RoutersSecond reason to upgrade to CE8.0 is Multistream: The feedback I receive from customers when installing 2 screen systems (MX800D or MX700) is: 'Do we have the ability to use the 2nd screen in a TelePresence call to display a 3rd caller that is in the call?' This ability was previously reserved only for Cisco Immersive Endpoints like the TX9000 or IX5000 devices. No longer is this the case, Multistream is a feature which enables endpoints to send and receive multiple streams at different resolutions. This will enable 2 screen devices to have the ability to show the active speaker along with the previous active speaker in full screen while the remaining participants will still appear in the filmstrip at the bottom of the first screen. Multistream will only work when all infrastructure devices are also upgraded to the latest version.
